The Columbia Group is an active group of over 11,000 local citizens from the Northwest corner of the state of Oregon. Our group is entirely volunteer run. Be sure to check out our volunteer page to find out how you can be involved with the Sierra Club at the local level.

Do you think that the Willamette River is protected?

In fact, The Willamette River and Portland Harbor suffer from years of pollution. Be sure to read our Portland Harbor Web Page to learn about the recent fish advisory from the Oregon Department of Human Services.

The Willamette River is still being polluted because of something called toxic mixing zones that let industries legally discharge toxic waste right into the Willamatte. For more information go to our water quality web page.
