Welcome to the Singles Club Web Page!

The Columbia Group once again has an organization for singles, which we're calling the Singles Club. Its purpose is to have outings and social events for the singles in the Portland area. We are here for you current Sierra Club members and we invite those not-yet-Sierrans among us to come too!

We fully expect to be adding extensively to the outings in number and variety. Potential outings can be nearly anything - we're limited only by ideas and manpower.

NEW: Monthly Movie Night
Please Join me for Saturday Night at the Movies, 3rd Saturday of each month; first one March 15th. For the 1st meeting, we will meet at the McMenimins at NE Broadway and 15th at around 5:00 PM to socialize, eat and have a drink and then decide on going to movie around 7:00 pm in the area which has many theaters to choose from. I will have a sign up that says Sierra Club. It is not necessary to reserve in advance but feel free to send an email if you are coming. In the future, I want to meet in different locations in the Portland/Vancouver area.

See you there,
Diane Golden

"Sierra Boomers" Pub Night
Activity Leaders: Adele Higgins ( adelesantina@yahoo.com) and Beth Kieres (kierese@comcast.net).
Please join us on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 7:00 - 9:00pm for good food and great conversation; no need to RSVP. Feel free to bring a friend(s) as long as they're single and a baby boomer. We welcome recommendations that that you think our group would enjoy for future pub nights.

Sierra Boomers FAQ:

  • What are Sierra Boomer Singles? Single people from the baby boomer generation (born between 1946-1964).
  • How will I recognize the group? We'll have a "Sierra Boomers Singles" sign on the table(s).
  • Who is going to be there? Old acquaintances. Your new best friend. Your soul mate. Come and find out!
  • How many people going to be there? It varies greatly, which is what keeps it interesting!
  • Can you give me directions? Please use MapQuest, Google, or Yahoo Maps.
  • How much does it cost? You pay for your food, drink, and a mandatory 15% tip. We are on one tab; however, the waiter can split the tab by each order. (Note: Based on past experience, sharing your food and/or drink tab is not always a good idea unless you know the person you're sharing with very well.)
Sierra Boomer Events:
  • Mar 8: O'Connors - Multnomah; 7850 SW Capitol Hwy.; (503) 244-1690 (smaller bar to right of café)
  • Apr 12: Roots Brewing Company, 1520 SE 7th Ave. Portland, OR 97214, (503) 235-7668
