Juniper Group Positions and Resources

Our long term priority campaigns include working with fellow conservation organizations to limit commercial logging in our public forests, exercise responsible fire management, map out and adopt wilderness quality lands and forests in the Eastern half of Oregon, help land management agencies eliminate livestock grazing on ecologically sensitive areas, and perform restoration on public forests that actually restores the damage wrought by 50 years of overcutting. We need your help if we are to be effective!

Below in a compilation of recent Juniper Group and Oregon Chapter position papers, comments on government agency actions, and appeals of government agency actions.  Open any one of them and see that there is much to be done to restrain the current Federal government from inflicting further significant damage to our forests and deserts.

Some very simple but critical things we urge are letter writing and phone calls to elected officials, or participating in our phone or email trees when we respond to decisions affecting our environment. We need more monitoring of timber sales, land exchanges, grazing permits and other developments on our public lands.

Some of the links below are downloadable "PDF" files that you will need Acrobat Reader to open. It is a free download if you don't already have a copy: Acrobat Reader
