Volunteer Coordinator: Position Open

Grassroots action makes the Sierra Club what it is today:

The premier national organization working for and winning environmental reforms in our communities, our state, our nation, and our world. We combine hard work and fun to achieve our goals: together members lead outings, analyze Environmental Impact Statement, create displays for our information booths, greet guest at events and programs, testify at hearings, mail action alerts, speak to school kids, call legislators, etc.

To find out more about grassroots action, go to the National Sierra Club's Primer 101 for new volunteers.

Let us know how you'd like to get involved at the local level. Review our current volunteer opportunities and contact our office if you are interested. Or to investigate other opportunities in the Oregon Chapter and its many Groups, just complete the form below and hit the 'Volunteer Now!' button and we'll be in touch shortly.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Web Development

We need volunteers with any of the following skills: HTML coding; writing and editing, especially headline, subheader and photo caption writing; photography and photoshop; graphic arts. We need clean, clear, informative, upbeat and attractive web pages.

To work on the web pages, volunteers are asked to make a long-term commitment to maintaining a part of our web site. Volunteers need to be established residents of Oregon with a job or regular source of income. The job does not need to be in a field related to web development, but volunteers need to show that they can continue to live in this state with its poor economy.

ASP and VBScript programmer with Access database experience

A volunteer is needed to create web applications and dynamically loaded web pages. This person would work on a calendar and other applications as needed. A project was started already but has not been completed. We could sure use some help on this on.

If you are interested in working on the Oregon Chapter's web site, please email the webmaster, Alicia Emel, at webmaster@oregon.sierraclub.org. Thanks!
